Un abogado se convierte en el amante de Jane, la esposa de un rico empresario. Éste los encuentra en la cama y, durante una pelea, el empresario muere accidentalmente. La pareja decide simular un atraco para justificar la muerte, pero el fiscal acusa a la mujer de asesinato. Su amante será el encargado de su defensa.
