En un pueblo pesquero de Texas los niños Amy y Raúl son muy amigos. Andrew, tío y mentor de la muchachita, es alcohólico, pero ella lo quiere. El gato, un chiquillo malo, roba cosas de una tienda y las mete en la mochila de Amy. El robo es descubierto y Raúl se culpa y es llevado a la gerencia. Amy y su tío lo liberan haciendo gracias y suplicando al gerente.
