El comandante del tanque Kalashnikov está gravemente herido en una batalla en 1941. El accidente lo deja incapacitado e incapaz de regresar al frente. Mientras se recupera en el hospital, comienza a crear los bocetos iniciales de lo que se convertirá en una de las armas más legendarias del mundo. Un inventor autodidacta, Mikhail Kalashnikov, solo tiene 29 años cuando desarrolla el ahora icónico rifle de asalto: el AK-47.
