"El aire de París" fue nominada al León de Oro al Mejor Director en el Festival de Venecia de 1954, Carné vuelve a contar con Gabin -quien ese mismo año ganó Copa Volpi al Mejor Actor- para narrar una historia ambientada en la ciudad del amor en la que un joven de origen humilde intenta labrarse una carrera en el difícil y oscuro mundo del boxeo.
