La primera vez que Hugo Montero entró al hospital psiquiátrico tenía veinte años. Murió allí mismo, poco después de cumplir ochenta y cinco. Realizó cientos de poemas y dibujos detrás de aquellos muros. El año 2004 editó un libro con su poesía, “Penumbras”. En el prólogo de su libro dice: “¿Escribir es acaso resucitar?”.
