Paty, una mujer indígena del pueblo wixárika, inicia un viaje que la mantiene ausente por largos periodos, al representar a su comunidad en el Concejo Indígena de Gobierno (CIG); mientras tanto su esposo, Rubén, cuida a sus hijas en casa. Durante el viaje, Paty se cuestiona a sí misma sobre su caminar y, a través de confrontar su pasado, encuentra un motivo para transformar su dolor en una nueva y mejor forma de vida para las mujeres de su comunidad.
