Corría el mes de abril de 1992 cuando tuvo lugar en el estadio de Wembley uno de los conciertos más legendarios de la historia. Un evento organizado por Queen que rendía homenaje al recién fallecido Freddie Mercury y que pretendía concienciar sobre el VIH. "Freddie Mercury: el show final" muestra cómo se gestó el concierto a la vez que retrata el momento histórico en el que tuvo lugar.Metallica, Guns N' Roses, David Bowie, Elton John o George Michael son solo algunos de los grupos que acompañaron a Queen en el histórico concierto. Freddie Mercury había muerto 5 meses atrás víctima de sida, una enfermedad que estaba matando a miles de personas y que estaba legitimando la homofobia. Su muerte permitió que se empezase a hablar abiertamente de la homosexualidad y que se dejase de estigmatizar la enfermedad.
